The way my daughter displays data. With more girls in IT and STEM, the world would be more colorful.

AgileParenting.net is the brain-child that has been jointly conceived by Wang Man, Xiaoman and Brigitte. We draw inspiration from each other and discuss, select and finally publish on this blog what looks relevant to the agile parenting community. This is a team sport which we enjoy and which will hopefully help making families happier.

However, from a German/European press law and GDPR perspective, one entity must be accountable for the content and the handling of our visitors’ personal data. Furthermore, we offer a small range of products on this site which has to have impact on a tax statement once agile parenting enthusiasts actually opt for purchasing them. To make things simple, Brigitte is standing in for all these aspects. For details, please refer to the Imprint.

The way that we handle data mirrors exactly how we manage everything else: with sincere respect and great care to the individual’s personal requirements. At the same time, this blog is designed as a platform for the agile parenting community that is interested in a certain sense of closeness and genuine, personal interaction.

The backbone of this blog page is WordPress which comes with a large number of tools to generate user statistics and analytics. We are using them to understand the reach of our articles and visitor preferences in general. This data is anonymized and aggregated, and we cannot track back who visited this website.

When visitors post comments, there is an exception to this rule: We can track the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

When you access this website, cookies automatically retrieve general information. This information contains server log files which display the type of web browser and operation system that is being used or the domain name of your internet service provider. This information does not allow our website to refer back to you. Cookies are a technical necessity which enable websites to efficiently deliver the requested information from this website to the end user. They are necessary for the usage of the internet in general.

Furthermore, you find an online form on this website that allows you to sign up for our newsletter. When you do so, you give your consent that we may use your personal data to effectively inform you about updates of the website. We only use the information provided by individuals for direct correspondence. We refer personal data to third parties only with the explicit consent of thar individual, and then only when it is necessary to fulfil a contract or a legal obligation.

On some of my pages we embed videos from youtube, youku or other streaming service providers. When you visit their websites using a plug-in, a connection with their servers is established and they receive information on which pages you have visited and your usage in general.
